How we can afford to offer a Zero Percent commission.
A lot of people think our service is too good to be true. Who can blame them, after all 15,000 yen to act as a middleman for a guitar is dirt cheap. Christ, the UPS Store charges $50 just to PACK one (and they don't even do a good job)!
But not only do we expertly pack every guitar, we also handle the funds, inspect every instrument for deal breaking issues, spend about 1,000 yen per guitar on supplies and answer countless questions from our potential customers. Countless.
There is no way we could afford to do this on a mere 5000 yen flat fee. No way. That is why no one else offers this kind of rate. Most of the major players have about a 10% commission and a flat fee.
So how do we do it?
Simple. We negotiate with the stores on price. Sometimes we get a discount and sometimes we don't. That is where we make our money and is also why we can not negotiate with the sellers on your behalf.
